Our company is based on the belief that our customers' needs are of the utmost importance. Our entire team is committed to meeting those needs. As a result, a high percentage of our business is from repeat customers and referrals. We want your training to be serious, but alot of fun at the same time.
Mike and Marie Hutto originally opened SUWANNEE RIVER SCUBA in Fanning Springs, Fl in 1996 and moved to our current location in 2003. Mike Hutto, our PADI instructor, was certified Instructor in 1990 and Master Scuba Diver Trainer in 1992 and has since certified over 1000 divers to all levels. He started diving in 1964 and continued during a 30 year career in the Navy. All SCUBA training classes are private or semi-private at public class price and are limited to 4 students unless otherwise approved.. SAFETY is our biggest goal. More time for 1 on 1 makes a better and more confident diver.
At SUWANNEE RIVER SCUBA, we offer a variety of services including CERTIFIED PURE AIR with FREE PICKUP AND DELIVERY available within 25 miles, Guaranteed repairs to all equipment, Visual Plus tank inspections and arrangements for tank hydro tests at an outside facility (see the "EVENTS" page on this website).
At SUWANNEE RIVER SCUBA we have a pool on site for confined water training and are within 40 miles of over 100 springs for Open Water training...the closest being 7 miles away (FANNING SPRINGS STATE PARK). They are all 72 degrees year around. We are within one mile of the Suwannee River and offer day and night trips on the river for Diving and fossil hunting or diving a local wreck (the City of Hawkinsville..a sunken stern wheeler), bird watching, 'gator watching, or just relaxing. We are also located 21 miles from a beautiful little coastal village named SUWANNEE..Where the river meets the Gulf of Mexico and can arrange overnight and weekend rental packages including Gulf of Mexico Spearfishing/fishing trips with licensed captains) through local realty people. We can arrange DIVE TRAVEL PACKAGES at prices that are competitive with any one to any dive location in the world specifically designed for divers. We specialize in trips down the Suwannee River locally or to the Cayman Islands...(OUR FAVORITE), but can book and excellent dive vacation anywhere.
